Part of our great British coastline, the white cliffs of Dover are a pleasurable sight when leaving or indeed entering England. This pretty, tranquil photograph was taken on a sublime July day. The photographer assures us that the turquoise sea and chalky white cliffs were actually this radiant on the day he captured them, no tweaking of colour required!
There's been many a song inspired by the white cliffs of Dover, from the most famous reference perhaps during World War II by Vera Lynn with (There'll be Bluebirds over) the White Cliffs of Dover to modern day songs by the likes of Blur and Fatboy Slim.
Each time you gaze at this beautiful seascape we hope you hear the gentle swishing of the sea, the murmur of distant seabirds and mostly a little song in your heart... arhhhh.
